Ondangwa Airport to Omafo, door to door

Ondangwa (OND) is the north’s airport, a short domestic hop from Windhoek instead of a 700 km drive. From the terminal, Fudapo is ±50 km up the B1, about 45 minutes, with the Oshikango border another 12 minutes past us.

Flying in

• Scheduled flights connect Windhoek (Eros/Hosea Kutako) with Ondangwa most days; morning arrivals give you the whole day in the north.
• The airport is small and quick. You’re usually kerbside with your bag within minutes of landing.
• Car hire desks operate at the airport; book ahead in busy seasons (December, Easter, month-end).

The drive: one road, no turns that matter

From the airport you join the B1, the tar highway that runs Ondangwa → Onhuno → Helao Nafidi → Oshikango. Fudapo sits right on it at Omafo, on the left as you head north. One tap opens turn-by-turn directions in Google Maps. Watch for pedestrians and animals near villages, and avoid driving the B1 after dark if you can. One more reason an overnight at Omafo beats pushing for the border at night.

No hire car? Taxis and transfers

• Shared taxis run the B1 corridor between Ondangwa, Helao Nafidi and Oshikango all day. They’re cheap and frequent; tell the driver “Omafo, by Fudapo”.
• Prefer a private pickup? WhatsApp us your flight time and we’ll help arrange a transfer so someone is waiting when you land.
• Arriving late is fine. Our housekeeper is home 24 hours, just send your ETA.

Which room after a flight?

Sossusvlei has blackout curtains on the quiet side for shattered travellers; Epupa has the private sunroom for a slow first morning; and Etosha catches the sunrise. All N$300 a night.
